TERMS OF SERVICE
The ground rules.
What Filo is
Filo is a friendly voice that helps you untangle your day. It’s a companion, not a doctor, a lawyer, or an emergency service.
Filo is a voice companion you call to talk through what’s on your mind, sort out one next step, set reminders, and make use of connected tools like Google Calendar and Gmail. Filo is in early access — it’s still growing, and what it can do changes over time. These terms apply to the Filo apps, the filo.im website, and the services behind them.
Your account
You sign in with a Google or Apple account. Keep that account secure — you’re responsible for what happens through it. Give us accurate details where asked, and tell us at hello@filo.im if you think someone else is using your account.
Acceptable use
- Don’t use Filo to break the law or harm anyone.
- Don’t use Filo to harass, threaten, or invade anyone’s privacy.
- Don’t copy, resell, or rebrand the service, or build a competing product on top of it.
- Don’t probe, scrape, or overload our infrastructure, or interfere with other people’s use.
- Don’t use automated means to create accounts or run up usage on accounts that aren’t yours.
Those rules keep Filo gentle for everyone. We may suspend accounts that ignore them — see Ending things below.
AI content & advice
Filo is encouraging, not all-knowing. It can get things wrong. Check anything important, and never rely on Filo for medical decisions.
Replies from Filo are generated by AI models. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Filo doesn’t provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and nothing Filo says is a diagnosis or a treatment plan — including anything related to ADHD, which is a subject Filo is designed around, not an area it is qualified in.
Filo isn’t the right place to get help in an emergency. If you’re thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right away — they exist, they care, and they can actually help.
Third-party services
When you connect Google Calendar, Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, or Contacts, you’re asking Filo to act on your instructions there. Those services are governed by their own terms — your use of them is between you and the provider. Filo’s handling of information received through Google’s APIs is described in our Privacy Policy and follows Google’s API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Availability & changes
Filo is offered during early access, as is and as available. We work on it constantly, which means features can change, pause, or go away. If something major is going away — like your saved memories being handled differently — we’ll tell you in the app first, wherever possible.
Ending things
You can stop using Filo any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and data — see the Privacy Policy for how that works. We can suspend or end access if these terms are violated, if an account is used in a way that harms Filo or its users, or if we have to discontinue the service. If that ever happens with your data still stored, we’ll give you a reasonable window to export or request it first.
Disclaimers & liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Filo is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose. We don’t promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Filo and its operator aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. If liability can’t be excluded, it’s limited to the amount you paid Filo in the twelve months before the claim (which, during early access, is likely nothing).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Filo’s operator is established. If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest still stand.
Changes
We’ll update these terms as Filo grows. The date at the top always shows when they last changed. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use Filo after that means you accept the updated terms.
